The Colorful Creature Beta 1.6.1


Before we start:

I am very thankful that all of you are patient! This patch update brings a bunch of features and bugfixes, making 1.6.X far more superior than previous versions. This version is sort of what I wanted out of the original 1.6.0 but I am glad that I am able to show all the following features today! Also yes I am making an update log on a patch but I don't care, the version is big enough! Also, just a reminder, beta 1.6.X is the final free version. Beta 1.7.X is planned to be released on steam, priced at 2 euro (please tell me if you are fine with this price). Steam release date is probably summer but I won't promise anything.

Features in Beta 1.6.1:

Main Menu:

- Added more splashtexts in main menu, with hints!

- Updated most text when you are going through menus (They have that '3D' effect like the title screen has)

- Credits updated, mainly removed “Giant Supporters”, made the credits menu look a bit more simplified and added more colors.

- Added a new endless run menu.

Settings:

- Added Languages Category, but at the moment, it doesn’t have anything.

- Settings can now be accessed in the pause menu in-game, so you don’t have to go to the main menu anymore just to change loud music!

- Since settings are now accessed in the main menu, cheats and refresh rate options are disabled.

Stats:

- Divided "Skins Unlocked" stat into Normal Skins Unlocked and Legendary Skins Unlocked. Self explanatory.

- The playtime stat will be in minutes if your playtime is under 1 hour.

- Added Challenges Beaten Stat.

- Added PERFECT Challenges Beaten Stat. It tracks beaten challenges without dying in one run.

- New stat for achievements beaten.

- New stat for hats unlocked

- There is now progress tracking full 100% game completion.

- There is now progress tracking with few stats

- You can now scroll, or use the arrow keys, to go up and down in the stats menu.

- Added 4 new ranks, earn more EXP to earn ranks.

Achievements:

- Added 8 new achievements.

- 7 new achievements are related to beating hardmode difficulties.

- 8th new achievement is beating the game on grayscale (which can be turned on in settings). You cannot change the setting midgame, you have to beat the game in grayscale without changing colorblind settings to normal if you want the achievement unlocked.

- Updated the time achievement counter to have one more decimal to avoid confusion.

Story Mode:

- Changed few levels

- Changed the formula for the coin conversion machine:

Coin Conversion Machine Formula: 

Beta 1.6 (old): Coins * 2 = Credits

Beta 1.6.1 (new): Coins * (2 + (Coins * 0.005)) = Credits 

(don't worry, credits will not be in decimals)

Blocks, Items, Level Editor:

- Added a new spike type, horizontal moving spike!

- There are four variants of horizontal moving spikes that can be placed on all 4 sides of blocks.

- Items are now more visible in level editor while in buildmode.

- Horizontal Moving Spikes move to their left when they spawn, they will only change direction if they hit a wall or if they are on the edge of the block, during turning, the spike stops for a second and then changes direction. The horizontal moving spikes ignore blocks which are not fully solid, this also includes one way blocks and death blocks. If a horizontal moving spike was placed all the way to the left side of a wall or edge of a block, it would immediately turn upon spawning. The spike can also go through blocks that are not fully solid, this also includes death blocks.

- Added two new songs in level editor

Fun Mode:

- Added 5 new skins!

- Added 1 new legendary skin!

- Changed Medal time with tutorial and big room challenge.

- When you complete a challenge, it will now display what challenge you’ve completed.

- Updated MOVING-L2 to match with the narrator text

- Added 12 new hats! All of the new hats are available in the hat merchant shop!

- Added a new challenge, community challenge, it is 4/5 difficulty, but could change to 5/5. The challenge has 8 new levels, the challenge awards you with 20 credits after completion but that also might change.

- Updated challenge stats, now if you want to see your time, you have to hold I.

- You can see least deaths and your grade upon finishing a challenge (you have to beat that challenge again if you want to have them displayed).

- A perfect grade in challenges now contributes to your stats (good luck dha).

- Changed I can't see anything challenge music

- New music in the community challenge

Local Multiplayer:

- Added support to customize any player with hats in local multiplayer, again they must be purchased from the hat merchant in order to use them.

- Added all hats and new skins for customization

- Updated ammo hud in local multiplayer

Endless Run:

- Seperate Menu was added for Endless Run.

- Added new challenge levels and 4 new songs in endless run.

- Added a difficulty system in Endless Run, I had to remake the random level loading for Endless Run though. It was made to avoid randomness (getting kaizo-l5 after w1-l1 for example)

- The difficulty increases in Endless Run if you beat levels, but it decreases if you keep dying.

- The difficulty represents how likely are you to get a hard level. You would still get an easy levels at all times but as your difficulty increases the harder it will be by average.

- Added Old School Endless run which basically works as it always was previously, it costs 250 credits though.

- Endless run has a new highscore, if you want your old highscore back, buy Old School Endless Run!

- Added custom endless run, costs 500 credits to unlock and try out.

- Custom Endless run can be customized to play specific worlds and challenges, music and amount of lives.

Other:

- When you are leaving a challenge, instead of ending up in the title screen, you will be in the challenges menu instead.

- Rich presence shows your score

- Added more discord rich presence text

- Added ChallengeDeaths.sav to keep track of deaths in challenges.

Bugfixes in Beta 1.6.1:

- You cannot win a level if you go to a locked door anymore in level editor.

- Fixed middle clicking gravity, speed limit blocks and vertical spikes in leveleditor

- Code optimizations with switch/cases

- Fixed repetitive code

- Some visual bugs fixed

- Fixed the item order in level editor with vertical spikes

- Rich presence now works once again.

- Fixed repetitive code

- Fixed ranks after reaching 150k EXP (thanks dha)

- You can now return to main menu in endless run if infinite lives are on (thanks scotrian)

- The Graduation Hat is no longer cursed

- The Conversion Machine will be destroyed after (for the sake of spoilers) something happens in W5-L20

- Fixed a bug on unlocking the hexagon skin after converting 100 coins

- You can no longer go below 0 coins in W5-L20

- White block particles size fixed for texture pages.

- Few bugfixes
